2008 discussing meeting

Prof. called all his students and some related teachers up to have a discussing meeting last afternoon, before the new year's eve entertainment.
in this meeting, everyone could talk as his will, for example about his study, his research, his life, and so on.
not to blame someone, just communicate more free, to develop more rational relationship between students and teachers.
i also talk about my thoughts, give some examples how to do well in the research.
there are some interesting comments from Prof.
for example,
1) Science is beyond nation, and also beyond subject.
that means for fome problems, someone will think it belongs to different subject, so they will overlook and give up. Material scientist will not think about the mechanical problems; and for me, many times i think this problem belongs to the material area, so i don't have to study it.
this is a very short-sighted idea, and also very dangerous.
solving complicated problems need owe solid knowledge of different subjects. you must have a open-minded mind, which is the basic quality of a excellent researcher.
2) keep in touch with the tutor at a regular time
not just ask questions, not just report on your work, it's should be a habit.
let others, especially your boss, know what you are doing now, and what will do, what lessond you have learned, what small or significant contribution you have obtained.
it's a good communicational style with others.
3) be good at summarizing
sum up your work from time to time, it will be convenient for you to begin future work.

as a referee of international journal firstly

this is the first time i am a referee of the international journal
but my opinion is rejectiion.
it's easy to find the paper's merits; and then you must give some comments wiht solid reason if you decide not to accept it without the opportunity of revising it.
this anthor is a german guy at harvard univ.
it's my great pleasure to have the opportunity of reading his fruit.
but his paper is not good enough to be published.
and his insight and his diligence is that i should study.

终于是急疹了

上次发烧的时候，觉得很像是幼儿急疹，结果诊断下来不是
退烧后好了
生病前两天，爸妈就提醒，小家伙的眼睛不太对劲，是不是不舒服
当时觉得可能是在地上爬得太多了，或者晚上嬉闹时出汗，或者着凉了
总之没往幼儿急疹方面想
开始发烧后，正好两人都很忙，就采取了保守疗法，美林+热敷
但第二天晚上烧还是不退，几乎就到40度了，开始着急了
马上去医院，时间选的不错，去的时候人不多，还挂了个专家
不过等我们验血的时候就开始人多了，去医院不是要选个好的时间段
专家根据观察和化验结果，断定是普通感冒，开了头疱，又开了两个治感冒的中药
头孢吃了，另两个药味道怪，吐了
还好，经过三天的折腾，体温终于降下来了
但没想到，等晚上回去的时候，老婆正抱着小家伙在床上哄呢
本来已经是睡下了，到十点的时候突然开始哼哼
结果抱起来就放不下了，哭着怎么哄也不行，情况开始越来越糟糕
等十一点多的时候，老婆突然发现脑袋上怎么会有红点
再一检查，脖子上已经有不少了，才突然醒悟：不会真是幼儿急疹吧！
查书，上网，一通忙活；症状过程几乎是一样的：
突然高热--》高烧不退--》退烧缓解--》身上起疹--》晚上脸上起疹---》退疹恢复
除了最后一步还没有经历，和书上描写的一模一样，为人父母的反应也一样
心里终于安定下来，但起疹的过程是非常难过的
于是把妈也叫起来了，三个人哄一个小家伙，身上不舒服，怎么抱也不舒服
水也不喝，哄也不应，最喜欢的遥控器也不要
就这样，三个人一直坚持到一点多，那股劲终于过去了
喂奶，喂水，哄睡，倒头才能睡
早上起来一摸小家伙的后背，满手的疹子
本来以为晚上就没事了，昨天晚上还是闹了一会，看来还是没发完
不过情况是越来越好了，但愿小家伙今天晚上能他爸妈睡个安稳觉
